BLINDSIDE GALLERY, 29 JUNE - 16 JULY, 2022.
A 2 ½ week-long live performance work consisting of a precise 30-minute looping score, ‘0’, for four performers that is pushed through numerous processing techniques/logics for its continued decay.
An info packet, instruction manual and anal-retentive score is provided to the performers when they arrive in the gallery on the first day: a NAFAQ’S (Never Asked Frequently Asked Questions) document, which outlines everything they need to know to learn ‘0’. Once ‘0’ is meticulously learnt (via the score, maps, and QR codes to video instructions) the processing techniques/logics that the performers push ‘0’ through are communicated to them via text message at the end of each loop. Gabriella was to have as little direct communication with the performers as possible over the work’s duration.
